On weekends, I like to make my husband breakfast. I’m an early riser and usually find myself with a couple of hours to kill before I can ply him out of bed. Whipping up a batch of pancakes or an omelette gives me something to do – and when I can offer a hot meal and fresh brewed coffee, I don’t feel so bad rousing him at 8 a.m. to keep me company….

Now that I have this blog up and running, I suddenly feel like I have no time to cook. Rather than perusing recipes after work, I find myself researching WordPress plugins and photography tips, like this helpful article from Pinch of Yum’s Lindsay Ostrom. As a newbie to the food blogging world, it’s both exciting and overwhelming. On a positive note, I’ve already experienced firsthand the generosity of the blogging community….

It’s been just over a year since I debuted 2 of Kind on Facebook, a page I created for all the food photos monopolizing my personal account. It was also my lazy attempt at blogging. Why set up a full-fledged blog if I could build and maintain a Facebook “flog” in a few clicks? Facebook was also my preferred social network at the time – it was where I went to see what my friends and favorite brands and bloggers were up to….
