Some say everything is better with butter. I’d argue everything is better with brown butter. OK, well maybe not everything, but a lot of things (pasta, cake, cookies) are. This new cranola creation, inspired by the delicate and crisp pecan sandie, is no exception….
Roasted Cauliflower Hummus
I’ve never been too fond of cauliflower, but I’m developing a crush on this knobby white plant. It started when I made White on Rice Couple’s sriracha roasted cauliflower a few weeks ago and quickly blossomed after I made this unique and healthy twist on hummus. (My mom gifted me a whole head and so I had to figure out what to do with it.) I’m not a big hummus eater, but I could eat this dip by the spoonful. It’s light and nutty and not at all slimy like most bean dips….
Carrot Cake Cookie Granola
It was an epic weekend for Two of a Kind. First, America’s Test Kitchen featured my photo of English muffin bread on Instagram and then Food52 regrammed my 12-kopeck Soviet sugar buns for pastry week. I’ll admit I was giddy. It was an unexpected PR push by two of my favorite cooking establishments….
Lemon Chia Seed Cookie Granola

Whole Wheat Cinnamon Coconut Cookie Granola
Move over cronut, donart and doughscuit. There’s a new hybrid treat in town. And I guarantee it’s no passing fad (at least in our household). Meet cranola – aka cookie granola – a Two of a Kind creation. It’s crispy and crunchy and extremely addictive. Healthy, it’s not – but when it comes to sweets, who’s really calorie-counting?…
Overnight Oatmeal with Chia Seeds
I’m definitely not a health nut. One look at the candy corner in our kitchen and overflow of baked goods in our freezer exposes my love for sugar and carbs. (Yes, we have an entire section in the house devoted to my stash of gummies, chocolates and other sweet treats.) But after picking up a jar of coconut oil and some chia seeds for the first time, I’m starting to feel an eensy bit like a superfood freak….
