Vegetable Lo Mein
Summer is quickly coming to an end. If you want to maximize the daylight hours and minimize time spent in the kitchen, this vegetable lo mein recipe is for you! The meatless main is quick to prepare and, equally important, satisfying to eat….
Barley with Zucchini and Sumac
Phew, the weather has finally cooled down here in the Bay Area. It’s so wonderful to be able to open the blinds and windows during the day – and not go stir-crazy. (Lunchtime and afternoon walks with Rookie are back, baby!)
Tangy Potato Salad with Celery and Mustard
Holy moly, it’s been unbearably HOT … and hard to keep cool without AC. Hopefully the heat wave ends soon.
Rainbow Chard and Potato Frittata
Fall is just a few weeks away and I’ve barely put a dent in my summer bucket list. Aside from tackling another of Alison Roman’s flavor-packed recipes, (unfortunately) no progress has been made. Pasta with Melted Cauliflower Sauce

Grilled Vegetable Pasta Salad
In summertime, there’s no such thing as too many tomatoes! Wouldn’t you agree? Whenever I visit the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market in August and September, I stock up on heirloom tomatoes from Lonely Mountain Farm. They’re incredible.
Pickled Blackberry and Shallot Panzanella
It’s been over three years since I hopped on a plane and travelled to another state. The experience was a little weird but absolutely wonderful.
